Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis
Department Mission
The mission of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis
is to create, integrate, exchange, and apply knowledge about leadership,
learning, and organizational performance to advance educational quality
and opportunity.
Research Focus
To fulfill this mission, the Department offers programs leading to PhD,
master's and certification in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis
with a focus on leadership for learning for all students.

Honors and Awards
Our faculty are experts who have won many honors for their research excellence
in educational leadership, organizations and culture, education and work,
access and choice, educational finance and policy, and research methods.

We are pleased that deans of colleges/schools of
education have ranked our Department consistently among the top five in the nation—frequently number one—in the annual US News and World Report ranking
of graduate programs each spring. Our Department's consistently high position for decades among 31
peer institutions offering programs in Educational Administration and
Supervision is one measure of our prominence in the field of educational
leadership, organizational studies, postesecondary and continuing education,
and policy analysis, while serving the Wisconsin Idea of service to the
state.
