External Relations Office

The School of Education's External Relations Office includes the School's alumni, communications, and development offices. As a team, the External Relations staff assists the Dean in maintaining valued relationships with alumni and friends across the country. How does it do that? Through alumni programs, publications, good old-fashioned correspondence, and an alumni Web site.

The Education Alumni Office coordinates numerous alumni events, as well as events for students, faculty, and staff. These events are advertised through Campus Connections (the SoE print Newsletter), the SoE Online News, and the Alumni Page on the School's website. The Education Communications Office publishes the School's newsletter and distributes it to more than 38,000 alumni several times a year. The office also acts as a liaison between the School of Education and the local and national press, and works with a variety of community organizations to get the word out about the School's events and initiatives. The Education Development Office coordinates the School's fund-raising efforts. Private gifts to the School of Education support a variety of scholarships and special projects. The School of Education has two Directors of Development at the UW Foundation.
