SCHOOL/UNIVERSITY LAUNCH WEBSITE OF PreK–12 RESOURCES
Parenting newsletters, lesson plans on everything from reading to genetics, a virtual museum of minerals, a mammoth mystery for kids – these are but a few of the more than 250 programs and resources developed by UW–Madison faculty and staff for PreK–12 educators, parents, and students. Thanks to an effort led by the School of Education in cooperation with the Chancellor’s Office, these materials are now available via a new website, created in the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea – to share the University’s resources with the people of Wisconsin and beyond.

VIDEOS SHOW HOW TO ASSESS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY INJURIES
Here’s a valuable resource for athletic trainers. Andy Winterstein, director of the Athletic Training Education Program (Dept. of Kinesiology), has produced a series of modules that demonstrate assessment tests used to evaluate a wide array of injuries common to physically active people. Winterstein first created these resources to be used by students in Athletic Training classes; but he realized the modules, which contain written directions and video demonstrations, could be useful outside the classroom. They're now available via the Learning Resources area of the Athletic Training website.

RPSE HOSTS FILMS FOR WISCONSIN FILM FESTIVAL
For the first time this year, the Wisconsin Film Festival will feature a strand of disability-related films that were selected by the faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education (RPSE). The diverse films represent multiple genres, disability issues, and perspectives from filmmakers who have a range of experiences with disabilities. Their creative efforts challenge definitions of disability and ideas about the significance of being differently abled. The Wisconsin Film Festival begins April 12 and runs through April 15 in venues on campus and around Madison.

CCBC STAFF HELPS COMMUNITIES MAKE CHOICES ON CHALLENGED BOOKS
School librarians have an inherently behind-the-scenes profession, but what happens when they are thrust into a very public controversy over a challenged book? Wisconsin librarians can turn to the Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC), which provides intellectual freedom services to Wisconsin schools. A recent Wisconsin Week article featured CCBC Director Kathleen Horning, who described the efforts of CCBC librarians to help school librarians and school boards make informed decisions on challenged books.
