NEW BOOK PROVIDES LESSONS FOR NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND
The No Child Left Behind Act is the latest in more than two decades of federal efforts to raise educational standards. What lessons can educators draw from these earlier efforts in order to help NCLB achieve its goals? In Standards-Based Reform and the Poverty Gap, edited by Adam Gamoran, leading scholars in sociology, economics, psychology, and education policy tackle this critical question. Gamoran is a professor of sociology and educational policy studies and director of the School’s Wisconsin Center for Education Research. The book can be ordered online via the Brookings Institution Press.
