UW-Madison School of Education Online News - September 2009

Welcome to the UW–Madison School of Education Online News, a monthly update on School and campus news and resources.

A Remarkable Journey: Inside the Education Building

“The transformation has been nothing short of dramatic – and it’s not yet complete,” writes Kerry Hill, who has donned a hard hat weekly to photograph the changes taking place on the Education Building Renovation/Addition Project. You, too, can follow the progress via Hill’s story and its links to webcams on the School’s website and to photos on the School’s Facebook page.  (Photo here shows the north side of the building, facing Observatory Drive, where an east wing and central commons area are being added.)

WKOW-TV Features Tandem Press in Action

This summer Madison’s WKOW-TV produced a terrific feature story on the everyday workings at Tandem Press, a printmaking studio affiliated with the UW Art Department.  Watching the video is almost as good as being there, and for alumni distant from Madison, this may be the only chance to see the Press and its people in action.  (Viewers will need to endure a commercial before getting to the Tandem spot, but it’s worth the wait.)
