Giving to the CCBC

The CCBC is funded by the UW-Madison School of Education, and an annual contract with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. But the support of donors enables us to do even more. CCBC initiatives such as the Charlotte Zolotow Award and Charlotte Zolotow Lecture are wholly funded through the generous support of individuals and organizations.

You can contribute to the CCBC through the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Donations to the CCBC through the Foundation are tax deductible. You can choose one of three funds at the Foundation that support the work of the CCBC:

  • The CCBC General Fund supports all aspects of the CCBC work.

  • The Charlotte Zolotow Fund supports the annual Charlotte Zolotow Award and Lecture.

  • The Ginny Moore Kruse Intellectual Freedom Fund supports the CCBC's work in the area of Intellectual Freedom, defending the first amendment rights of Wisconsin minors and providing Wisconsin librarians and teachers with information and referral when classroom or library materials are challenged.

To contribute to the CCBC: make out a check payable to: University of Wisconsin Foundation.

On the memo line of your check, note the specific fund (above) that you are contributing to.

Send your payment to:

Jennifer McFarland
University of Wisconsin Foundation
1848 University Ave.
P.O. Box 8860
Madison, WI 53708-8860

You can also contribute to the CCBC through the Foundation online with a credit card. Make sure to specify one of the three funds above in the box requesting "detailed instructions for directing your gift."

If you have any questions about making a gift to the CCBC, or are interested in making a deferred gift, contact Jennifer McFarland, the School of Education's development director, at (608) 263-0851.
