You can also find out how to order a copy of the most recent CCBC Choices, the CCBC’s annual best-of-the-year list of outstanding books for children and teens. We also provide links to many of the annual children’s and young adult literature awards and best-of-the-year lists

Information and links on challenges to books and other materials are available for teachers to help you think about choosing materials for your classroom, and to help you better prepare to face challenges to materials if they do occur. Wisconsin teachers facing a materials challenge are encouraged to make use of our CCBC Intellectual Freedom Information Services.

Unique information on Wisconsin authors and artists creating books for children and teens, including the online CCBC Directory of Wisconsin Children’s Book Creators and tips on hosting an author or illustrator visit.

The Westing Game manuscript materials. Examine the rough draft, first draft, second draft and final manuscript of chapter one of The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, complete with notes from the author, editor, copyeditor and proofreader. Listen to Ellen Raskin’s commentary, and examine her working notes and design concepts for the book with your students.
Education and Outreach
Find out about upcoming events at the CCBC, including book discussions, author/artist lectures and other events. If you are elsewhere in Wisconsin, find out if there will be a CCBC presentation in that part of the state soon.
The CCBC has occasional distance education offerings as well.
Join CCBC-Net, our online discussion group that examines a different topic related to children’s and young adult literature each month.
