It moves on to allowing students to try out several different poem forms. Emphasis on playing with language and evoking mood. Target audience: Grades 7 and up, preferably for students interested in improving and currently writing poetry.

Fees
My author talks usually go 45 minutes to an hour and cost $150 if the school is within a 30-minute drive of Madison. Longer drives cost a bit more, depending on where. My workshops are usually 2-3 hours (depending on what you want) and range in cost from $250-$400 if the school is within a 30-minute drive from Madison. Longer drives cost a bit more, depending on where. I am open to negotiation.

Additional Comments
My BA from the UW-Madison is in comparative literature and Scandinavian studies, and included a thesis on Hans Andersen. I write for both adults and children, mostly non-fiction magazine articles on topics like listening and mentoring. Past school talk subjects include my take on writing fiction and doing interviews for biographies. My workshops include fiction, poetry, and (believe it or not) grant proposals.
