Wisconsin Connection
My childhood was spent growing up in Milwaukee; part of every summer I explored Fox Lake and Eagle River. I attended UW-Stevens Point. Rhinelander has been "home" for 30 years.

Presentations
Best Kept Writer's Secret. Explores practical devices to add pizzazz to young authors' writing. Snippets of Sendak, Paterson, Paulsen and others are used to bring the "secret" alive. 1 hour. Target audience: Grades 4 to adult. No limit on group size.

Cooking Up a Story. After learning how creating a story is like pie-making, participants create a group story. Emphasizes dialogue, setting, trouble, etc. 45 minutes to 1 hour. Target audience: Grades K-3. Group size limited to 60 students per session.

Climb Aboard the Nonfiction Express! Get "on track" to successful nonfiction writing by liking together elements of topic choice, research, and revising. "Train"-ing can be fun! 1 hour or more. Target audience: Grades 3 and up. No limit on group size.

Fees
$900 per day for 3 programs with minimal autographing. Add $100 for each additional program, or significant autographing. Additional: travel expenses at school district rate, and lodging, if necessary.

Additional Comments
I graduated with a double degree: Natural Resources and Elementary Education. I taught 6th grade for three years. My books combine my love of the outdoors with my passion for enthusing children about the writing process.
