Wisconsin Connection
I'm a lifelong Wisconsin resident. I grew up in Oak Creek, earned a degree in Education at UW Whitewater, taught fifth grade in Stone Bank and Oak Creek, and recently moved to the Wisconsin Dells area.

Presentations
Story Writing Workshop. Using her work as an example, Sharon explains the secret to ending stories. Students gain hands on experience in creating a believable character and plotting a realistic story. Worksheets help students organize their thoughts. Target audience: Third grade through adult.

The Right Here Quiz. This high energy presentation reviews midwest history from the Ice Age to the present. During the quiz, everyone who gets a question answers it correctly because broad hints are given and other participants can help. The quiz leads to a reading of RIGHT HERE ON THIS SPOT and a discussion of local history. . Target audience: This program works for all ages. It's especially appropriate for students studying Wisconsin history and great fun with mixed groups of adults and children.

Meet the Author. Sharon's presentation explains where story ideas come from, what it takes to turn an idea into a complete story, how a story becomes a picture book, and more. . Target audience: All ages. The program varies to meet the interests and needs of the group.

Fees
$100 an hour, $250 for a half a day (under three hours), travel expenses. Negotiable

Additional Comments
I love to make people laugh, so small groups -- two classes in one room -- work best for my programs. During my talk about being an author, I draw stick figures or call up students to demonstrate my points.
