Presentations
Essay writing made easy: How to get your thoughts down on paper. I will cover how to develop a topic and a focus (slant), how to organize your points so others can follow them, how to start and end a paper -- and other tricks of the nonfiction writing trade. Target audience: Junior and senior high students.

How to research on the Internet without getting fooled. I will cover how to us key words to find sources of information, how to narrow your search so you're not overwhelmed with site pointers --and, most important, how to tell reputable sources from questionable ones. Target audience: Junior and senior high students.

A writer's life. I will tell facts and anecdotes from my 30+ years as a New York editor, a freelance writer for magazines from Seventeen to Fortune, a syndicated newspaper columnist and author/co-author of 22 books for children and adults. Target audience: Senior high students with an interest in journalism and/or writing as a career.

Fees
From $100 to $500 depending on time spent at the school (I will spend up to 5 hours in one day giving workshops at the school) and on how long it takes to travel to and from the school - negotiable. On request, I can prepare other workshops in my areas of expertise.

Additional Comments
I'm listed in Who's Who (2006) and Contemporary Authors. My degree from Brooklyn College (NY) is in English and Education. I have taught numerous classes and workshops for children and teens in and out of Wisconsin.
