Wisconsin Connection
I first came to Madison, Wisconsin, as an exchange student from Sweden in the late 1970s. I fell in love with Wisconsin and returned, permanently, in the early 90s. Since 1994, a small town in northwestern Wisconsin is my home.

Presentations
Bake me a Story. “Bake me a Story” is an elementary school level Power Point program about, well… baking a story. Using the analogy of making pancakes, this continuously interactive program involves the students in the process of putting a story together. While most children this age have a good grasp of character, setting, and plot, “Bake me a Story” is designed to be a fun reminder of what they have already learned in the classroom. This presentation would benefit from being followed by a writing workshop. It is best suited for children old enough to read and write. . Target audience: Elementary school.
Swede Dreams. One writer’s journey - a talk about writing what you know, and learning what you don’t know, so you can write about it. This program discusses what goes into the creation of a novel; the good, the bad, and the daily work.
. Target audience: Middle school, high school, adults.
Other options. Contact me about custom tailored programs. I am always looking for new ways to do things and would be excited about the opportunity to create a program that would fit your group. . Target audience: Anyone.
Fees
Fees: $150 for the first 45-60 minute presentation*, $100 per presentation after that, or $400 for a full day of no more than four presentations. If applicable, add travel expenses of .30 mileage and lodging.
* These fees are negotiable.
Additional Comments
Because of my restless nature – I traveled alone from Sweden to England for the first time at the age of thirteen, spent a year in the U.S., first as an exchange student in high school, and later as an exchange student in college, spent a year in Paris, France, as a nanny, traveled extensively in Europe, took trips to Russia and Japan - I understand what it means to be different. My writing and my programs tend to emphasize curiosity and approaching life from an unexpected angle.
Other than novels, I write short fiction for children's magazines, such as Highlights for Children, Spider Magazine, Winner magazine, New Moon etc. I also write extensively for the newspaper and magazine markets. I write short romance for a Swedish women's magazine (Allers veckotidning), short fiction for a Swedish young adult educational anthology, and more.
Genre(s) of books: fiction for children, fiction for young adults, non-fiction
