Presentations
Writing Historical (or Mystery)Fiction. Choosing from these possible activities, we can devise a program that works for your class: (1)What it's like to be a writer. How you get published; how you get paid. (2) Specifics on how to write historical(or mystery) fiction. (3) For historical fiction, discussion of German immigration into the state of WI in the 1850s. (4)Class participation exercise such as building a story tree on the chalkboard. (4)Q&A . Target audience: Grades 4-8. .

Writing Workshop. For students working on their own fiction. Meet in small groups, chat about writing interests, do some writing exercises, and I read and comment on their stories. Students incorporate my comments into the final drafts they write for their teachers. Target audience: Grades 6-8.

A Visit with Anne Bradstreet. Anne Bradstreet (played by Marcia Hoehne)will visit in costume to talk about her poetry, her life and times, and interact with the audience. Though Anne remains in character throughout the presentation, knowing only her own time period, Marcia can "be herself" afterward to take questions if desired. . Target audience: High School.

Fees
For presentations other than the Bradstreet program: $250 for half a day; $400 for a full day. Travel (at current IRS rate for mileage) plus meals and lodging if necessary. For the Bradstreet program: $380 for a single, $625 for a pair, $765 for a triple, for audiences up to 80 people. For audiences of 80-160, $610 for a single and $910 for a pair. Travel, meals and lodging as above.
