Since 1981 the Cooperative Children's Book Center has offered
monthly discussions of newly published trade books for children and young
adults. The meetings are open to anyone who wishes to read the books in
advance and participate in the discussion.
We welcome any interested adults to our CCBC book discussions. If you have questions or would like more information, please call 608-263-3720.
The December 2009 book discussion will be a mock Caldecott Award Discussion. We will look at a selection of books published in 2009 and discuss them using the criteria for the Caldecott Award, which is given annually t for the most distinguished illustration in a book for children published in the United States.
This list was compiled at the CCBC in preparation for the CCBC discussion and does not represent American Library Association committee nominations for the actual award. The books on this discussion list are not necessarily recommended by the CCBC. For a list of new titles that are recommended by the CCBC
staff, please see our Book of the Week or use the Quick Search feature on our web site.
