Do I need a ticket? Yes, tickets are required, but they're free. The free tickets (limit 2 per person) may be picked up at the Wisconsin Union Theater box office, 800 Langdon Street, Madison, Wisconsin as of September 8. We expect there to be a capacity crowd for this event, which is part of the Wisconsin Book Festival.
Exactly what is happening at this event? Author Judy Blume will deliver a 45-minute lecture, aimed at adults, based on her writing for children and teens.
Is the lecture accessible? Yes, the Wisconsin Union Theater is wheelchair-accessible. If you need other accommodations, please call 608-263-3721.
Where should I park? There will be reserved parking that evening for $5.00 in Helen C. White Hall, 600 N. Park Street, directly across the street from the Wisconsin Union Theater. Pay as you enter. Just drive in and say you're attending the Zolotow event. You many also park in the Lake Street Ramp, between State Street and University Avenue. It's a 10-minute walk from there to the theater.
Will there be autographing? No, Ms. Blume will not be autographing just before or after the lecture. She will be autographing earlier that day, from noon-1 p.m., at A Room of One's Own Feminist Bookstore, 307 W. Johnson Street, Madison.
Will there be books for sale? Even though Ms. Blume is not signing books, A Room of One's Own will have books for sale in the theater lobby after the lecture.
Is this a program for children? The primary audience is adults, although children and teens are welcome.
Will the lecture be webcast live?
No, there will not be a live webcast of the lecture.
Will the lecture be videotaped? Yes! The lecture will be
videotaped and available later this fall as a webcast on the CCBC web site.
