This fall, I will be returning to teaching after eight years at home with my children. I have a degree in English and a Masters in Teaching from Kent State University. I taught in Ohio, then here in Wisconsin for five years at Oshkosh North High School. I was involved with many activities, including forensics, the student literary magazine, and a school play. During my break from teaching, I ran a home day care and worked part-time at a bookstore. Recently I have helped teach my kids’ religion classes, volunteered for a political campaign, and judged high school forensics. My husband, Joe, is a middle school teacher in Lodi, and we have three children, Holly, Owen and Nate. When I was in elementary school, I was involved in a similar program and it was a valuable experience for me, so I’m very excited to participate in College for Kids this summer with Nate and the other fifth-graders from Lodi.
