Hi! My name is Chris Melland. This is my first summer working as a facilitator for College for Kids. My son attended the program three years ago. He has so much fun, both in the workshops and in the group time that I thought I’d get involved on a closer level this year. My daughter, Meredith, hopes to attend the program also. I’m excited about this program because I love to learn and I especially love to help others learn. I work as a corporate trainer, leading workshops in business writing, using e-mail effectively. And understanding generational differences (which mainly means helping people of different age groups get along.) I studied French at UW-Madison, which led me to take a semester off and travel to France on my own. I live in Stoughton with my husband, Russ, and children, Tim and Meredith. Tim is starting high school in the fall and Meredith will start middle school. As a family, we love anything to do with music-playing instruments (Russ, Tim and Meredith), singing (me), and listening (all of us – rock jazz, some pop, folk and classical). We also like to camp. After the CFK session is over, we’ll travel to the Apostle Islands for vacation. For myself, I enjoy reading, relaxing with friends, learning new crafts and movies.
