I started my employment at University of Wisconsin-Madison in June, 1998. As the elevator doors opened on my first day of work, I was immediately handed a box of supplies and was directed back down the elevator to meet College for Kids students in the parking lot! That very first day, I realized how much work was involved with this program and was thrilled to see what a life-long impact this program has on the students enrolled.
My official title is Senior Outreach Specialist working for the School of Education in the Office of Education Outreach. I have over 20 years of professional experience in Pre-college program development, management, instruction and evaluation. My years of experience include program management at University of Wisconsin-Stout, Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Greenwood Players Children’s Theater, Firefly Arts Company, and the past 9 years at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I love making a difference for youth in these programs and to provide opportunities that can not be found in a traditional classroom setting. I am continually trying to improve the pre-college programs by increasing diversity, adding new innovative courses to challenge and inspire young students, and to create state-of-the-art experiences for everyone involved.
When I am not working, I keep myself very busy with gardening, quilting, photography, and love to sneak in a trip now and then! I look forward to a wonderful summer with all 340 students enrolled in College for Kids as well as the hard working CFK staff.
