Young Writer’s Workshop Students will learn by lively practice the elements of the writing craft. Using group and individual exercises we will be creating unforgettable characters, writing sentences that dance off the page, painting pictures with words that make our friends laugh and weep. The Human Body! In this workshop, students will be introduced to and explore how their bodies take care of everyday needs like breathing, eating and walking. Students will actively explore the different body systems including the function of each organ and how the organs work together. Students will explore the adaptations of different animals depending on where they live and what they eat. Workshop Leader(s): Kirsten Johnson |
Light, Color, and Spectroscopy Students will do a variety of hands on activities related to light and color. Examples include: building circuits with light-emitting diodes, constructing a spectrograph to separate white light into colors, making chromatography columns to separate dye mixtures, using visible spectrometers to measure color intensity, and making colored sparklers.
