Geocaching- Hunting for Treasure Hunting for treasure has never been more fun! Using a GPS receiver students will search for geocaches that have been hidden in the Madison area. A geocache is a container of treasures that has a specific longitude and latitude address and has been placed for others to locate. There are 705,091 active geocaches around the world and 18 within 2 miles of the UW campus. Students will learn how to find geocaches on the internet, how to use a GPS receiver to find caches, and how to log their geocaching finds. We will also place a cache for others to find.
