Thomas S. Popkewitz

Professor
My studies are concerned with the systems of reason that govern educational policy and research related to pedagogy and teacher education. My research includes historical, ethnographic and comparative studies of national educational reforms in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Southern Africa, and the U.S. The research has been translated and published in 12 languages.
I am a Senior International Academician in the Russian Academy of Education (elected 1996); Ed.D. New York University, 1970; Ph.D.h.c. Umea University (Sweden), 1989; Ph.D.h.c. University of Lisboa (Portugal), 2001; Ph.D.h.c.. Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, (Belgium), 2004: Ph.D. h.c. University of Helsinki. (Finland), 2007.
