Graduate Program: Employment
Graduate students may receive assistantship funding in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in which they conduct research with faculty members, supervise prospective teachers’ classroom practices, and/or teach courses in our undergraduate programs. These appointments vary in percentage, but often are funded at 33.3%, which affords graduate students tuition remission, health insurance, and monthly stipends.

2) Must have taught mathematics in an elementary and/or
middle school classroom for at least 2 years.
DESCRIPTION OF PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1) Supervise ECMC and/or MCEA teacher education
candidates in their third semester (mathematics)
of the elementary education program.
2) Meet weekly with a cohort of undergraduate
students to discuss their experiences in practicum
and connections to methods.
3) Observe each student 2 times over the course
of the semester.
4) Support students as they reflect on their teaching
and work on their portfolios.
5) Meet weekly with other TAs supervising in the
semester and teaching methods.
