Mission

The goal of the Diversity & Social Justice Committee (DSJC) is to coordinate and provide programming that supports the mission and philosophy of multiculturalism and diversity within the Department of Counseling Psychology. In supporting a community of culturally integrative and competent individuals, the DSJC's goal is to increase knowledge, awareness, and skills of culturally-aware life-long learners.

To meet these goals, the DSJC oversees activities that include opportunities for personal and professional interactions to learn about self and others. These activities will include, but are not limited to, speaker series, student and faculty brown-bags, faculty/student-facilitated movie nights, "potlucks with purpose," and other community-building activities related to diversity, multiculturalism, and, social justice.

New!

Due to a generous donation, the Department of Counseling Psychology has created a Charlotte Clara Lehman award up to $1200 each year for an individual or team of students.  Students are encouraged to propose a plan for using this fund to complete a Social Justice Project.  This project should promote social justice activity for an underserved or underrepresented group. More information can be found here. Due date for proposals is January 31.
