This one and one-half day mini-conference, sponsored by the UW-Madison Department of Counseling Psychology, will provide continued training and education on culturally relevant mental health care for mental health professionals from a variety of settings (e.g. clinical practice, schools, training programs, etc.). The mini-conference features a dynamic student colloquium, collaborative roundtable sessions to promote engaging discussions on the nature and implementation of social justice in counseling, and an invited keynote address by Dr. Chalmer Thompson from Indiana University. The conference format allows ample time for networking amongst participants. Continuing education credit is available to participants.
Located at the Scenic University of Wisconsin Campus
UW-Madison’s Pyle Center, overlooking Lake Mendota in the heart of campus, is the location for the mini-conference. Accommodations will be available in the Lowell Center, located one block from the Pyle Center. Participants also have the option of making individual arrangements at other nearby downtown hotels.
