Ways to Learn More/Resources/Events

  • Check out web sites related to Multicultural Education.
  • Actively seek out courses, and attend lectures and activities on campus that are related to understanding issues of race, gender, class, sexual orientation, disability and other aspects diversity.
  • Actively seek out activities in the Madison community related to various ethnic or cultural communities.
  • Read community newspapers.
  • Take ethnic studies, gender-related studies, LGBT studies and disability studies courses.
  • Get involved in a student organization that is involved with issues related to race relations, culture or social justice.
  • Go to the MERIT Library or College Library and explore their collection of books and resources related to multicultural education.
  • Volunteer or observe for a semester or longer in a school or community site that offers the opportunity to interact with individuals from racial, cultural, language, and economic backgrounds different than your own.
  • Learn more about diversity issues on the UW Madison campus.
