Required Advising Groups for Freshmen

All freshmen in the following School of Education classifications must attend a mandatory "First Semester Advising Group" or "FSGA." The following students must enroll in one of these sessions in the next three weeks:

*Pre-Kinesiology - Exercise and Movement Science
*Pre-Kinesiology - Athletic Training
*Pre-Elementary Education
*Pre-Special Education
*Pre-Secondary Education - English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies
*Pre-World Language Education (Spanish, French, and German)

Here are the dates and locations of the sessions:

Pre-Kinesiology
Monday, October 12th, 4:15-5:30, Rust-Schreiner reception area, 115 N. Orchard St.
Thursday, October 15th, 4:00-5:15, 401B Teacher Education Building, 255 N. Mills St.

Pre-Elementary and Pre-Special Education
Wednesday, October 7th, 4:15-5:30, 401B Teacher Education Building, 255 N. Mills St.
Tuesday, October 13th, 6:00-7:15, Rust-Schreiner reception area, 115 N. Orchard St.
Thursday, October 22nd, 4:00-5:15, 401B Teacher Education Building, 255 N. Mills St.

Pre-Secondary and Pre-World Language Education
Thursday, October 8th, 4:00-5:15, 401B Teacher Education Building, 255 N. Mills St.
Wednesday, October 14th, 4:15-5:30, 401B Teacher Education Building, 255 N. Mills St.
Tuesday, October 20th, 6:00-7:15, Rust-Schreiner reception area, 115 N. Orchard St.

If you feel you have received this email in error, please contact Mary Thompson-Shriver at mmthomps@education.wisc.edu as soon as possible. Also, if you have conflicts with all of the sessions for your intended major, contact Mary as soon as possible. Students pursuing one of the School of Education majors above should sign up SOON!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students who do not attend a session will have a hold placed and they will not be permitted to enroll for the Spring Semester.

At the session, students will have opportunities to get to know other students in their major as well as one of the advisers in the School of Education. Students will learn key information about course selection, enrollment for spring, campus resources, and application to the professional program. And if that's not enough, there will be COOKIES!

Here are the session registration directions:
 
 1. Go to http://careers.education.wisc.edu/students/
 2. Click Login button
 3. Enter your campus ID number
 4. Click New User
 1. Enter the temporary password 2020
 2. Enter your email address and a password
 3. Click Login now
 4. Enter your campus ID number and your new password
 5. At the Menu select Student Access
 6. Click on Upcoming FSGA/TSGA Sessions.
 7. Choose a session for your major
 8. Once done, click "I will attend this session"
 9. If you wish to change your session click "Select a different session"
 10. Choose another session for your major.
 11. Click Student Menu at the top or click logout
