This is a unique conference designed for the professional development of elementary and secondary teachers, the professional interest of university faculty, and the intellectual stimulation and curiosity of college students and for the integration of international concepts and issues into the K-14 curriculum. The Conference features a Friday evening reception, an international music program, and the opportunity to network and interact with international scholars, teachers and students. The Saturday program includes a dozen concurrent sessions on a wide range of topics “Across Six Continents,” a session of Roundtables encompassing several topics of professional interest, and three half-day workshops for more in-depth examination of topics or skills development. The keynote speaker is Edward Gnehm who is the former (and recent) Ambassador to Jordan, Australia, and Kuwait. Ambassador Gnehm will focus his talk on the knowledge and understanding of the Middle East and American foreign policy that teachers and students may require for the 21st Century. All of this plus breakfast, lunch, an ice cream social, and the opportunity to network with colleagues and other professionals. |
