Dr. Mead's Information for Advisees

Graduate Advisee Index

Program Plans:

Each student admitted to the department must file a program plan that has been developed with his/her advisor. You should make an appointment to develop this plan sometime during your first semester in the program. If you aspire to both a degree and certification from the State of Wisconsin, be sure you let Dr. Mead know as you will need to file BOTH a degree program plan AND a certification plan. Before making any appointment, thoroughly review all information provided on this and other departmental web pages (see program links below). Give consideration to any course work taken at other institutions that you wish to substitute for requirements here. Then draft a program plan as much as is possible on your own. You may pick up copies of all forms in the office of the Graduate Admissions Examiner in 1152 Educational Sciences Building.

"If I haven't yet completed the program plan, what classes should I take?":
When you review the required course information (see program links below), you will note that 701 is a prerequisite for many of the courses in the Higher and Postsecondary Education program and 702 is a prerequisite for many classes in the k-12 sequence. Accordingly, you should register for 701 or 702 first. If you plan to take more than one course this semester, choose additional course work from the "common core" of courses.
