I have been with the ELPA Ph.D. program since fall 2004 and my intentions are to complete the program by spring 2007 or shortly thereafter. I am focusing my research on the rhetoric of higher education, particularly with regard to the purposes of higher education as illuminated by subjects such as: institutional mission statements and capital campaigns, articulations of secondary-postsecondary connections, public policy documents and deliberations, field/discipline boundaries, and expressions of research aims and objectives.
