Opportunities to Give

Through the University of Wisconsin Foundation, the official fund-raising agency for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the School of Education is actively seeking gifts in the following areas:

Scholarships. State funds cannot be used for this purpose; however, through private gifts, the School is now able to award nearly 200 undergraduate scholarships. Each reflects the particular interests of its donor.

Special Projects. There seems to be a never-ending supply of original projects worthy of funding in the School of Education: research, outreach, special seminars and speakers, our Professional Development Schools partnership, as well as building projects. Each year, private contributions support some of these projects.

Recognition. There are numerous outstanding personal efforts in the School of Education that deserve special recognition; however, like scholarships, state funds cannot be used for this purpose. Thanks to private gifts, once a year the School is able to provide much-deserved recognition and awards to alumni, cooperating teachers, faculty, and staff who have outstanding records of achievement.

Endowed Professorships or Chairs. Endowed professorships allow the School to attract the most sought-after, experienced scholars. While the salary of faculty members is almost always paid for by the University, the endowment provides guaranteed funds for a particular faculty member to conduct research and hire graduate students.
