International and Comparative Education

The Department of Educational Policy Studies’ concentration in comparative and international education prepares researchers, policy makers, and planners who are interested in education across nations and cultures.

 

International Studies in Curriculum, Pedagogy & Teacher Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction International Studies in Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Teacher Education Master’s program focuses on integrating global studies into curriculum and teaching.

 

World Language Education

The Foreign Language Education program certifies teachers of French, German, Spanish, and other languages while emphasizing reflective practice and action research at the Masters level. Doctoral studies relate to applied linguistics, second language acquisition, curriculum theory, critical pedagogy, and applied semiotics.

 

Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives First Wave Program

First Wave offers students the opportunity to live, study, and create together in a close-knit, dynamic campus community. Administered by the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI), the First Wave Learning Community is the first university program in the country centered on spoken word and hip-hop culture.
