Transforming Lives Through Occupation

The Occupational Therapy Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the most successful in the country due in large part to the outstanding faculty, staff, and alumni; the cutting edge research that impacts peoples' lives; and the quality of the existing programs including a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MS-OT), Master of Science in Therapeutic Science (MS-TS) and a PhD degree in Kinesiology, Therapeutic Science Track. In the last year, the OT faculty has received over $6.4 million in federal research grants from the National Institute of Health. Our research faculty have particular expertise in:

Hot Off The Press!

  • Dr. Ruth Benedict was awarded a 2 year, $100,000.00 grant from the Cerebral Palsy International Research Foundation to study the effects of intrathecal Baclofen Pump (ITB) treatment on health, well-being and participation of persons with cerebral palsy and their caregivers. June 2008.
  • Dr. Ruth Benedict was recently promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Kinesiology at UW-Madison. The promotion recognizes her accomplishments as a scholar and teacher and affirms the significant contributions of her work to serving the field of occupational therapy and the special needs of children. May 2008
