Practice and Experience
Pediatrics Experience: Home and school based private practice for children with fine motor, sensory motor, and visual motor delays; public school therapist providing evaluation and direct and consultative services for autism programs and other disabilities; supervisor of early intervention team; supervisor/clinical specialist for rehabilitation hospital, sensory integration clinic therapist. Special Training-Trained in sensory integration at Ayres Clinic, NDT certified, completed 24 units of course work in Disabilities Studies Doctoral Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. General Interests: Occupation-centered practice, disability studies/disability rights with emphasis on inclusion of people with disability in faith communities, occupational science, sensory integration, spirituality and occupation.
Teaching Areas
Taught graduate level OT courses addressing development of human occupation, evaluation and intervention in pediatrics, and facilitated in a problem based learning course addressing all areas of practice in the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago (9 years). Currently teaching pediatric development and interventions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
