Curriculum Design
Description: Our MS-OT Curriculum Design was developed based on the missions of the UW-Madison, the School of Education and the OT Program.
OT Program Mission: “To excel in the discovery, critical examination and transmission of the knowledge and values of occupational therapy for the purposes of promoting health and well-being in the local, state, and global communities”.
Occupational Therapy Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
The Occupational Therapy program offers three graduate degree programs. For more specific program information follow the links to each separate degree program.
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MS-OT)
The Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy is an entry-level master's degree offered to students who have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. With an emphasis on research and evidenced-based practice, the program will prepare students for entry into the occupational therapy profession.

Master of Science in Therapeutic Science (MS-TS)
The Master of Science in Therapeutic Science is an advanced level MS degree offered to students who have graduated from an accredited program in occupational therapy. Program emphasis is on the understanding of theories underlying occupational therapy. Students conduct research and develop advanced knowledge in a specific area of concentration within therapeutic science.

Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Therapeutic Science Track
The Ph.D. track in Therapeutic Science is offered to occupational therapists with a master's degree. The program prepares individuals to serve as researchers and educators who are able to contribute to the understanding of the theoretical and empirical relationships between occupation, health, and well-being.
