School Announces 2009 Faculty & Staff Achievement Awards

The national reputation of the UW-Madison School of Education is due, in large part, to the dedication and talent of its faculty and staff.  Every year the School recognizes the most outstanding members of its family with Distinguished Achievement Awards.  Congratulations to the recipients of the 2009 awards:

Faculty Award Recipients

• Cheryl Hanley-Maxwell, Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education
• Jin-Wen Yu, Department of Kinesiology – Dance Program

Classified Staff Award Recipients

• Lisa Armstrong (recipient of the Claire Shaffer Award), Wisconsin Center for Education Research
• Martha Fisher, Student Diversity Programs

Academic Staff Award Recipients

• Joyce Hemphill, Department of Educational Psychology
• Catherine Loeb, Wisconsin Center for Education Research
• Ann Ward, Department of Kinesiology

Award recipients were selected by a committee of their peers from nominations submitted by their colleagues.  The honorees will be recognized at a School of Education reception in the Harrison Parlor of Lathrop Hall, 1050 University Avenue, on Wednesday, April 22, beginning at 4:00 p.m.  The awards program begins at 4:45 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public; advance registration is not necessary.
