AM: Comix & Zines!
Create an original mini comic books or "zine" magazines to share. We will look at the work of national and local cartoonists for inspiration and learn pen and ink cartooning skills and storytelling basics. A guest artist in the “zine” industry will also be visiting!
PM: Current Affairs: Raise Your Voice
Investigate current environmental issues and examine international affairs as they pertain to U.S. involvement. Do you ever wonder what is going on in this very moment on the other side of the world? Have you ever wondered what is going to power our future and what role you will play? You will also see how our local community is affected. Together, we will ensure your voices speak the words of an informed generation.

Laurie Rossbach is an illustrator, muralist, and textile designer in Madison. She is the owner of the Green Parasail and an active member in the Madtown Liberty Players.
Current Affairs: Raise Your Voice
Jami Lampkins currently holds a teaching degree from the state of Nevada where she worked with inner city schools and taught World History at Palo Verde High School. She currently volunteers at Madison Apprenticeship Program and is looking forward to a teaching career in the Madison area.

Students entering grades 6-9
