Description:
College for Kids is an exciting 3-week Precollege learning experience that develops and challenges the skills and talents of highly motivated students entering grade 6. This program allows students to interact with peers, encourages creative thinking, team building, and creative problem solving with exposure to challenging academic areas. Courses are chosen from the biological sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Participants are recommended by 40 participating school districts. A 3-credit professional development seminar for 27 educators is offered concurrently with this program. Students utilize state-of-the art campus resources and interact with UW-Madison faculty, staff and community professionals.
Teacher Facilitator Opportunities
We are currently seeking Teacher Facilitators for CFK. As a teacher facilitator, you will spend one week in a graduate level seminar being exposed to social and emotional needs of gifted and accelerated students, identification, and differentiation of curriculum to meet learner needs. The following three weeks are devoted to facilitating 12 motivated students and their involvement with instructional activities on campus. College for Kids is an exciting 3-week Pre-college learning experience that develops and challenges the skills and talents of highly motivated students entering grade 6. This program allows students to interact with peers, encourages creative thinking, team building, and creative problem solving with exposure to challenging academic areas. You will have 60 contact hours with the same group of students throughout the CFK program.
We are offering a $350 Fee for Service, and hours are M-F 7:30am - 12:45pm.
