Assessment Protocol

Points in program where formal assessments occur.

  • Our materials sent previously to DPI indicate where in the program various standards are addressed.
The review process:
  • Assessment of the meeting of standards is done by course instructors, supervisors and cooperating teachers depending on where the standard’s required performance occurs.
Procedures used to ensure that students and cooperating teachers understand the assessments, how they are used, how they can prepare for them.
  • Cooperating teachers are informed by supervisors and in a general letter stating that they will be asked to participate in assessing student performance on select standards.
How you will use the results of the assessments to advise and counsel students throughout their preparation?
  • We have no system in place to advise and counsel students through their preparation.
What is required for entry to student teaching?
  • Entry into student teaching requires that students have passed the standards required in the semester(s) before student teaching.
The criteria that will be used to evaluate students’ portfolios:
  • At the moment we have no criteria for evaluating portfolios other than that they show that students have passed required standards at various points in their program.
