Student Diversity Programs
The Student Diversity Programs Office (SDP)
represents the School of Education’s commitment to diversity and access to higher
education. SDP houses programs that serve students from K-12
to those interested in graduate school. These programs include:
- College Access Program (CAP): A three-week residential pre-college program preparing high school students from low-income families and ethnically underrepresented backgrounds for college admission and beyond.
- Summer Education Research Program (SERP): An eight-week residential summer research program for undergraduate students interested pursuing graduate degrees.
- American Indian Curriculum Services: An office offers assistance to faculty, staff, and students in our Teacher Education Programs about the teaching and learning of American Indian's history, cultures, and
sovereignty in the K-12 classrooms.
- The Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and Retention (OURR): A team of staff who responsible for recruitment and retention of undergraduate
students from underrepresented backgrounds in the School of Education.
- Education Graduate Research Scholars (Ed-GRS): A fellowship program which provides not only funding to graduate students from underrepresent backgrounds but also opportunities to network, build community, and connect with faculty members.
