The SERP program is sponsored by the School of Education and the University of Wisconsin-
Madison’s Graduate School. The program provides underrepresented undergraduate students
interested in pursuing graduate studies in the field of Education, a valuable opportunity
to engage in independent research guided by a faculty mentor.
During the eight–week long program SERP scholars attend weekly seminar, meet
with faculty mentors, and prepare to present their research papers at the end of
the program. Selected SERP participants have the opportunity to present at the CIC
conference, which will be held at University of Michigan this year.
In addition to receiving a stipend, room and board, and travel arrangements, SERP
participants also attend cultural events and field trips.
