On Wisconsin magazine puts spotlight on School of Education’s Bird Bear

May 24, 2018

In the latest edition of UW-Madison’s alumni magazine, On Wisconsin, reporter John Allen conducts a Q&A with Aaron Bird Bear, an assistant dean for Student Diversity Programs in the School of Education.

Bird Bear, the report explains, fills numerous roles: recruiting and retaining students from underrepresented communities, overseeing the summer College Access Program, and serving as a consultant for American Indian Curriculum Services.

He also co-leads a group that is creating signs honoring the Native American presence in the campus area — ones that will present messages in both English and Ho-Chunk.

To learn much more, check out the entire report for free on this On Wisconsin web page.
