UW-Madison’s Marlene Skog will present her new work "Internal Divide" for the Madison Ballet March 31 and April 1 at the Bartell Theater Madison in their spring concert "Primavera."
Skog is an assistant professor with the School of Education’s Dance Department
This new solo, with original music composed by Tim Russell, will be performed on pointe by ballet artist Shannon Quirk. The dance is an evocative solo, reflective of current times and manifested in the self. Russell's unique composition is richly eclectic and mystifying as the choreography is unleashed, quick paced and danced on the precipice.
"Primavera" will close Madison Ballet's season with this joyous spring celebration of dance and music. Also on the program is Artistic Director W. Earle Smith's Las Cuatro, set to Astor Piazzolla's "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires," a dynamic interpretation to Vivaldi's popular suite, as well as excerpts from Madison Ballet's charming "A Midsummer Night's Dream," with choreography by Peter Anastos.
