UW-Madison's King, Lang to present at conference on equity

UW-Madison's Bruce King and Laura Lang will be presenting at an upcoming conference from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction titled "Innovations in Equity: Improving Our Practice."

King is a faculty associate with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis and has also been a researcher with the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER), where he contributed to studies focused on Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW).

Lang received her Ph.D. from the School of Education’s No. 1-ranked Department of Curriculum and Instruction in 2012 and is a senior outreach specialist and lecturer with the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

King and Lang will be presenting along with Lynn Glueck and Blair Feltham from Madison West High School.

Their session, "Equity and Excellence in the Instructional Core: Advancing Authentic Intellectual Work through Collaborative Teacher Teams," will share insights and experiences of implementing AIW with teacher teams and schools to enhance teaching and learning for all students.

The conference will take place Sept​. 25-26 in Stevens Point, Wis.
