UW-Madison's Stankey featured in Lenscratch 'Meet the Team' interview

September 19, 2017
UW-Madison's Sarah Stankey was profiled on the daily photography journal Lenscratch for its 10th anniversary "Meet the Team" feature.

Stankey is a master of fine arts student with the School of Education's Art Department

In the Lenscraft article, Stankey is interviewed in a profile about her work for the website, her development as an artist and her most recent project, titled "Camp."

Stankey's work explores the natural world and animals. Further, her art considers how humans interact with the natural world and animals, and most recently, how historical archives can inform knowledge on how people once understood animals and nature.

Stankey has taken on many roles at Lenscratch, including co-reviewing the Filter Festival of Photography, writing posts on her experience in graduate school, writing book reviews and putting together group exhibitions.

"Living in Wisconsin can be somewhat isolating from the art world at large but having the Lenscratch community at my fingertips helps to make me feel connected to artists both nationally and internationally," Stankey said in the interview.
