Faculty, teaching staff encouraged to apply for The Discussion Project

October 04, 2017
UW-Madison faculty and teaching staff are encouraged to apply to become a member of The Discussion Project's spring 2018 cohort by Oct. 20.

The Discussion Project is a professional development program meant to improve facilitation strategies, increase student engagement and promote inclusive classroom climates.

Twenty participants will be selected, with the aim of creating a group that is diverse among a variety of factors. The program will meet for two full days before the spring semester begins and for one afternoon around mid-semester.

During this first year of the project, there will be a focus on curriculum evaluation so the program can be strengthened in future semesters, making it even more important that participants attend every session.

The Discussion Project is being created and implemented by the School of Education's Paula McAvoy in collaboration with Dean Diana Hess.

If interested, you can apply here on The Discussion Project website.
