UW-Madison alumna Suzanne Eckes was recently named the President of the Education Law Association (ELA). Eckes earned a Ph.D. from the School of Education's Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in 2002, and is now a professor at Indiana University Bloomington. The ELA's mission is to help scholars and practitioners collaborate and inform educational policy to positively affect students, faculty and administrators. A press release from Indiana University states one of Eckes' long-term goals in the position is to bring knowledge of education law to the forefront of the ELA's work with groups that would benefit the most.
