News for Faculty and Staff

Deadline to submit Educational Innovation grant proposals is Oct. 26

September 16, 2015

Since its beginning in 2011, the Educational Innovation (EI) Initiative at UW-Madison has sparked the creativity of our faculty and staff to enhance the student learning experience.

Continuing to support faculty and staff in these efforts is a high priority. Therefore, we are pleased to announce another year of the EI Small Grant Program, which will provide grants of up to $10,000 each. This year, we are focusing on enhancing active learning strategies and developing Open Educational Resources (OERs). In partnership with the International Division, we are also offering funding for efforts that aim to enhance global learning and students’ global competencies.

We will be accepting proposals that address at least one of the following:

• Active learning through blended course implementation

• Internationalization at Home

• Open Educational Resources (OERs)

The deadline to submit all proposals is Monday, Oct. 26. Funding decisions will be made by late-November, followed by notifications to all applicants thereafter. For more information and to apply, visit the EI website.

Proposals should align with departmental priorities and include a signature of endorsement from the department chair. Proposals also must clearly articulate how the project will be sustained once the funds have been expended. Awardees will be required to submit a project activity report.

If you have any questions, please contact Mo Bischof, Associate Vice Provost (mo.bischof@wisc.edu) or Kris Olds, EI Senior Fellow and Professor, Department of Geography (olds@geography.wisc.edu).
