UW's Winterstein to speak in Malaysia at ASEAN Sports Medicine Conference

UW-Madison’s Andrew Winterstein will be speaking this week at the first ASEAN Sports Medicine Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He will provide a plenary session on the efficacy of injury prevention programs, present a poster on patient reported outcomes following injury and lead hands-on workshops on various injury taping techniques.

Winterstein is a clinical professor and director of UW-Madison’s Athletic Training program, which is housed within the School of Education’s Department of Kinesiology.

The ASEAN Sports Medicine Conference 2015 is Nov. 28-29, and brings together orthopedic surgeons, sports physicians, physiotherapists, sports science practitioners, athletic trainers, coaches, other allied health professions and students -– all with a common link of managing a multitude of conditions related to sports. The theme for the conference is: "Enhancing Performance Through Sports Medicine & Sports Science.”

Winterstein's workshops are sponsored by the Mueller Sports Medicine Company, which has previously endowed the Mueller Fund for Athletic Training Excellence.  He was invited to participate in the plenary and poster sessions.
