March 29, 2016

UW-Madison’s Maxwell Courtright has been invited to participate in an undergraduate student training workshop April 8-10 that’s part of the American Educational Research Association’s (AERA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

This will be Courtright’s second time taking part in this AERA event. He is a communications disorders major through the School of Education and also is pursuing an educational policy studies certificate through the School.

During his time on campus, Courtright has also worked with Kimber Wilkerson’s research group. Wilkerson is a professor of special education with the School of Education’s Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education.

This AERA workshop will be led by early career and senior scholars, and will give students an overview of how education research is designed across disciplines, how quantitative and qualitative research methods are used in studies, and how research is applied to education policy and practice.
