UW alum Leon receives distinguished faculty honor from Eastern Michigan

UW-Madison alumnus Raul Leon recently received the Ronald W. Collins Distinguished Faculty Award. 

This honor is the highest award given to a faculty member at Eastern Michigan University. It recognizes recipients for a distinguished contribution in one of three categories: teaching, research or service. Leon is receiving the 2015 Ronald W. Collins Distinguished Faculty Award for Research.

Leon will be the first in the history of his department and the first Latino male at Eastern Michigan University to receive this award.

Leon received his Ph.D. from UW-Madison's Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in 2010, with a focus on higher education administration.

Leon is currently an assistant professor of higher education and student affairs with the Department of Leadership and Counseling at Eastern Michigan's College of Education.

Leon was the recipient of the 2014-15 UW-Madison School of Education Outstanding Recent Graduate Award.
